The colourful tribes of Upper Assam mainly in the districts of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia have their unique ethnicity and lifestyles. All tribes are mainly of Mangoloid origin and from different regions that have diverse lifestyles and cultures.

Destinations: Namphake Tribal Village near Naharkatia Singpho tribes, Tai-phake tribes and Tangsa tribes near Margherita.Dibru-Saikhowa National Park.    

Day 01: Dibrugarh Airport.

Our tour representative will welcome you at the Dibrugarh Airport/railway station and then check in Hotel in Dibrugarh. Overnight at Dibrugarh.

Day 02: Dibrugarh to Namphake Village, Naharkatia

Early breakfast and then move to Namphake village near Naharkatia town, 2 hours drive. It is the largest of the Tai-Phake villages in Assam, boasting 80 odd families, which trace their ancestry to the great Tai race and of Buddhist Religion. The Namphake Buddhist Monastery is one of the oldest and most respected Buddhist monasteries in Assam. The villagers live in ‘Chang Ghar’, bamboo and wood houses built on raised platforms and are mostly engaged in Agriculture. Evening drive to Margherita and check in at Singpho Cottage or Digboi Tourist Lodge or similar. Overnight

Day 03: Singpho tribal village, Tai-Phake tribal Villages, Tangsa Tribal Villages near Margherita

Visit Singpho Village, Tai-Phake Tribal Village and Tangsa Village. These all are nearby to each other’s and cover a half day. Afternoon, drive to Digboi. Attractions at Digboi: Attractions: The Centenary Oil Museum, World War II Cemetery etc.Drive to Dibru-Saikhowa NP and overnight stay.

Day 04: At Dibru-Saikhowa National Park (10 km away from Tinsukia Town)

The whole day in Dibru Saikhowa NP. Activities: Boating at Dibru River, Jungle walk, Bird watching and Gangetic Dolphin sighting. Evening comes back to the same hotel and overnight. 

Day 05: Dibru-Saikhowa National Park-Dibrugarh Airport.

Transfer to Dibrugarh Airport or Tinsukia Railway Station for the onward destination.

Travel Tips

When travel to North-East India, guests are requested to follow the below mentioned points for hassle free journey.

  1. Always carry a small torchlight, umbrella in your bag. If you do journey during summer umbrella is must.
  2. Bring Sturdy comfortable shoes, Warm jackets during winter and cotton T shirts or shirts during Summer.
  3. Bring Toiletries, Insect repellent, Sunscreen.
  4. Note that Star category hotels are generally available mainly in Guwahati, Shillong. The remaining destinations, mainly remote ones, mostly have basic accommodations but neat and clean.
  5. For a comfort long distance journey, guests are requested to avail transportation by SUV cars such as Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Scorpio, Bolero etc.
  6. Changing foreign currencies are not mainly problem in Guwahati, Shillong or in some big towns. But maximum destinations do not have this facility so carry a number of Indian cash with you.

For  a foreign traveller, always carry your documents such as Visa etc with you anytime.
