ABOUT THIS TRIP :

North East India has over 200+ tribes. In Arunachal Pradesh, there are about 20 major tribes with many Sub-Tribes. Every tribe has its distinctive cultures, traditions, beliefs, food habits and colourful attire. Due to remote locations from the rest of India, still, maximum tribes of Arunachal Pradesh are maintaining their originality in various cultural fetes.

Destinations to cover : Guwahati, Itanagar, Ziro, Daporijo, Along, Pasighat, Roing, Mayodiya, Dibrugarh airport 

Day 01: Guwahati airport to Tezpur (5 Hours drive)

Our representative will welcome you at the Guwahati International Airport and then drive you to Tezpur for an overnight stay. By evening reach Tezpur and check in to the hotel. Overnight at Tezpur.

Day 02: Tezpur to Itanagar (6 Hours drive)

We will move to Itangar, the Capital of Arunachal Pradesh which is a 6 Hours’ drive. If time permits, we will visit Gompa (Buddhist monastery). Overnight at Itanagar Hotel.

Day 03: Itanagar to Ziro (5 Hours approx)

After early breakfast move to Ziro.  It is the headquarter of the Lower Subansiri District of Arunachal Pradesh. Situated at an altitude of 5754 ft, it is the home of the Apatani tribe. Zero is famous for paddy fields and fish culture. Enroute visit Potin Dam, Tago nyishi village. Overnight at Ziro.

Day 04: At Ziro

We will have sightseeing in Apatani villages – Hong (one of the largest tribal villages in Asia), Hari, Hija, Bamboo groove, pine groove and Kardo Shiva linga world’s tallest linga. Evening back to the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 05: Ziro to Daporizo (Five Hours approx)

After breakfast move to Daporizo.  It is the headquarter of the Upper Subansiri district, located on the right bank of the Subansiri River. Daporizo, altitude of 2100 ft, is the junction of three important tribes: Hill Miris, Tagins and Adi-Gallongs. Enroutes visit Hill-Miri (Nyishi) tribal village. Overnight stay at Daporijo.

Day 06: At Daporizo

Daporizo is ideal for trekking. Attractions: Menga cave famous for shiva linga, Tagin village, Taliha, Mara and Menga. We will meet families and see their lifestyles.  In the evening back to our accommodation and night stay.

Day 07: Daporizo to Along (Six Hours approx)

Drive to Along. Along is the HQ of West Siang district, located on the south bank of river Siang. It’s the territory of the Adi tribe, one of the largest tribes in Arunachal Pradesh with lots of subgroups with an altitude of 1020 ft. The Adi tribe has different sub-tribes like Adi (Galong, Miniyong, Pasi, Padam, Bori and Borak ) which differ from each other. Enroute: Birds view of river Subansiri, visit Tapi village, Bara Rupa villages etc. By evening check in to the hotel and overnight stay. Overnight at Along.

Day 08: At Along

Whole day sightseeing in Along and then Visit Kabu, Darka village and get a bird’s eye view of the Yomgo River.Overnight at Along.

Day 09: Along to Pasighat (4 Hours apprx)

Drive to Pasighat the HQ of the west Siang district, located on the right bank of river Siang. Pasighat is the oldest town of Arunachal? It is the land of the Passi and Minnyiong tribes. En route enjoy the great view of Great Siang and Siyom confluence. Visit Minnyiong villages, the traditional hanging bridge over the Siang River, orange garden (depending on time, and season) en route. Overnight at Pasighat.

Day 10: Pasighat- Roing

Move from Pasighat to Roing (2-3 hours) and local site seeing in Dambuk. This route has the most beautiful roads with blue rivers and blue open skies. This will certainly take your breath away. Overnight at Roing.

Day 11: Roing-Mayodiya-Roing

On this day we will cover at least one Mishmi tribal village and will interact with local people. Then move to Mayodia Pass situated at around 9,000 feet MSL. Back to Roing and overnight stay.

Day 12: Roing to Golden Pagoda in Namsai to Dibrugarh

We will visit the most beautiful Golden Pagoda in Namsai. This route is very serene and be prepared to be awestruck. By afternoon reach Dibrugarh. Overnight at Dibrugarh.

Day 13: To Dibrugarh Airport

This day as per flight schedule move to Dibrugarh Airport or Tinsukia Railway station for onward journey.

Travel Tips

When travel to North-East India, guests are requested to follow the below mentioned points for hassle free journey.

  1. Always carry a small torchlight, umbrella in your bag. If you do journey during summer umbrella is must.
  2. Bring Sturdy comfortable shoes, Warm jackets during winter and cotton T shirts or shirts during Summer.
  3. Bring Toiletries, Insect repellent, Sunscreen.
  4. Note that Star category hotels are generally available mainly in Guwahati, Shillong. The remaining destinations, mainly remote ones, mostly have basic accommodations but neat and clean.
  5. For a comfort long distance journey, guests are requested to avail transportation by SUV cars such as Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Scorpio, Bolero etc.
  6. Changing foreign currencies are not mainly problem in Guwahati, Shillong or in some big towns. But maximum destinations do not have this facility so carry a number of Indian cash with you.

For  a foreign traveller, always carry your documents such as Visa etc with you anytime.

  • Kindly Note: Best time to avail tour in this region is from October  to May. From June to September, due to heavy rain, maximum destinations are not suitable to visit.
